This is just a post with some of my favourite Jasper photos (with a several from Mt. Robson in BC) to help cope with my nostalgia.
I’m missing Jasper so much. I miss being in a small town, which I would have never thought I’d be saying 5 months ago. It’s strange because everything I didn’t think I would like about Jasper initially, I miss. To be honest, I could never settle in a small town (at least I don’t think so), but I miss knowing people in town, recognizing faces and knowing that things are just so much more simple. I miss the beautiful mountains. I miss them so much. I miss the Ridge (at Tekarra Lodge) where you could see the Athasbasca and Miette river come together. I miss the Deli and how they could always deliver the perfect wrap.

But I’m still so grateful to be in BC, talk about beauty here too. The thing is I wouldn’t go back if I had the choice. It’s different now, it’s not summer and the people who made made my time in Jasper so memorable have also moved on – gone back to school, their career, travelling… It’s just the change part that’s getting to me. That’s the thing, Jasper is such a transient town, people coming and going that it was just time to keep moving on.

On a side note, I’m jealous, but more so inspired by my friends who are travelling right now. I have a friend biking from Vancouver to California, a friend who moved to New Zealand, a friend road tripping the US… it’s amazing and I’m so inspired by you!

(Also a youtube video below for any Jasperites out there – it’s hilarious but only really makes sense if you’ve lived there.)
